Go on an odyssey, an Assassin's Creed Odyssey (Review)

Image
Environment Assassin's Creed Odyssey is set in ancient Greece, where there are so many islands, and so many statues and temples. Honestly, aesthetically, the whole map is incredibly beautiful and scenic, but at some point in time, I just stopped being able to appreciate the beauty of it, it all became just like noise to me, except for the places significantly different locations, such as the slums on the outskirts of Athens, one of those marble mine or perhaps the Colosseum, other than that, as beautiful as the other places in the game are, they have not managed to capture my attention much. Maybe it's because I've played the game for too long, or maybe it's because, structurally, most of the cities use the same, or at least extremely similar looking building design, the streets look similar, the temples which you synchronize the locations look similar.  Although I do understand it's because the game is trying to look realistic, but still, I feel as if the...

Hitman Absolution (tl;dr review)

Image
Pros: +Interesting stealth mechanics +Graphics still hold up  +Sufficiently interesting plot +High amount of freedom in terms of ways to complete mission Cons: -Only lasts around 10 hours -Cutscenes are part of loading, can't skip immediately -Dead online component Graphics: 7/10 Gameplay: 8/10 Overall: 8/10 Hitman Absolution is a nice game for stealth shooter fans, it is creative and fun, worth it's price as is. Would be nice if the missions are not that straight-forward and maybe contain some amount of branching choices in outcome. Read full review here

Hitman Absolution, an absolute delight to play! (Review)

Image
Environment The stages in this game takes puts you in all sorts of different places, Chinatown, pubs, abandoned buildings, hotels, secret underground research facilities and more! Infiltrating and killing people is quite the thrill in this game, discovering secret ways to assassinate or hidden rooms are always so exciting. Gameplay The gameplay would depend on the difficulty you choose to play on, there are 5 in total, ranging from being able to just go in guns blazing and killing everyone to needing to plan your every move carefully to prevent being killed.   I'll talk briefly about my experience where I completed the game on normal, the 2nd easiest difficulty. To put it in a few words, it was immensely fun! Although you're encouraged to keep casualties to a minimum and only killing the main targets, I found killing and eliminating threats to be a more enjoyable approach. I'd usually circle around perimeters and eliminating as many threats unseen as possib...

BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! (mobile tl;dr review)

Image
Pros +Engaging story lines +Easy to learn gameplay +Interesting characters Cons -Energy system that limits playtime -Need to spend money if you want cosmetic items Graphics: 8/10 Gameplay: 8/10 Overall: 8/10 A mobile game with a surprising amount of production quality, you can see the effort the producers put in, and the VAs, the vast amount of voiced  dialogues and songs are quite impressive for a game that is completely free.  See the full review here Looking for a gaming phone to play on?  Here's a great deal from Octaplus!  Get around 1.5% cashback for a  Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Pro

BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! A magical rhythm game for mobile! (Mobile game review)

Image
Environment/ General feel The game allows you to explore several small maps where the various band members will hang out and talk, you can tap on them to listen to a variety of casual conversations to listen to. This is one of my favorite feature in this game, you can get a better feel of the band member's personality and relationships with one another.  The characters from the various bands all have their individual charm that keeps you playing to know more about their story! My personal favorite so far is definitely the carefree and air-headed "Hello, Happy World!", yes, the band's name is literally Hello, Happy World! The dynamic of 3 extremely air-headed girls and a DJ in a bear costume that's the voice of reason in the band, yes, the girl in the bear costume Deejay-ing is the logical and practical one! Their story line never fails to bring a smile to my face.   Gameplay The gamplay itself is a simple tapping rhythm game with 7 keys,...

DMC 5 (tl;dr review)

Image
Pros +Incredible combat +Beautiful graphics +Great characters (Dante and V) Cons - Story was mediocre, especially the ending - Platforming (it's not fun) Graphics: 9/10 Gameplay: 9/10 Overall: 9/10 Story aside, this is still one of the best games I've played so far. Definitely worth every penny. Get it if you really like actions games or hack & slash games. Get it on Steam  here Full Review here

DMC is still stylish as ever in DMC 5! (Review)

Image
Environment The game is set in London, a London that's ravaged by demons, despite that, the maps still managed to draw my attention from time to time, the city that's completely unrecognizable in places where demonic goo, tentacles and roots, the places do look marvelous and menacing at the same time, truly a fitting map for DMC 5  Gameplay The gameplay is going to be separated into 3 parts, the parts that you play as the 3 main characters of the game, Nero, Dante and V, they all have very distinctive playstyles which may affect your experience in the game.  First let's look at Nero , the first one you get to use, DMC 5 changed Nero to have a slightly more varied playstyle, by equipping him with a plethora of different "Devil Breakers" since his loss of his original demonic arm, the "Devil Bringer". While I do agree that the Devil Breakers are a breath of fresh are for Nero's rather monotonic gameplay back in DMC 4, I do ...

Vampyr (tl;dr review)

Image
Pros: + Immersive Story + Choices have significant impact on NPC + Interesting interactions with NPC + Voiceover quite good, especially for the main character Cons: - Bland and clunky combat - Slightly dated graphics - Travelling around map can be a pain sometimes Gameplay: 9/10 Graphics: 7/10 Overall: 8/10 An extremely solid game for story lovers, the story will most likely keep you hooked until the end, but for action game fans, this is probably a rather subpar game. So get it for the story, not the combat. See the full review:  https://lykegaming.blogspot.com/2019/09/save-london-or-plunge-it-into-chaos-be.html

Save London or plunge it into chaos, be the Vampyr. (Review)

Image
In Vampyr, you play as Jonathan Reid, a doctor and newborn vampire, bewildered and hunted down, you run and hide from your adversaries while trying to look for answers and for a place to stay. But after you got away and settled down in a hospital, that’s when things start to unfold, as you get deeper into mysteries surrounding the city of London, you’ll need to make a choice, Save the people or plunge them further into darkness. Environment The game is set in London, early 20 th century, there is a rapidly spreading epidemic, wars on the frontline, and weird dangerous men roam the streets, nowhere is safe for the citizens of London. As a vampire, Jonathan can only be up and about in the night, and the game crafts a perfectly desolate and eerie city, with great background sounds and music, there’s always a sense of tension and mystery on the streets, which is great. The ambience is great, but there is one thing I do not like about how the environment is designed...
